Places to be, People to see

Random Sunday Thoughts as I scheme my way back to the Sphere for some more Dead & Co. shows this summer (100%). This week is NamesCon, the largest domain name conference in the world. I am always most excited to connect with so many friends. Domainers are the best, an eccentric but smart group of early adopters, tech entrepreneurs, billionaire founders, and the world’s savviest asset investors. I will see multiple other deadheads who also surely have been to the shows at the Sphere, fellow Draftkings DFS degenerates, and many whom I have shared successes with over 26 years. The best evidence of how great this group is occured in the past few days, as my son was getting ready to embark on a trip to Europe with his just graduated college buddies, a rite of passage before the realities of the real world begin. He is going to many countries but in most, there are domainer friends and as this group does, they rally. In Mallorca, my guy Louis Pickthall has made it clear there will be no beach clubs that they cannot get into, and in Barcelona, they will hopefully experience Andy Booth for a beer or three. I wish Andrew Rosener was in Portugal this week because I know how that would go. My trip is short, only 2 nights,1 busy day but I will make the best of that time catching up with everyone. I would love for you to check out my fireside keynote with the great Ron Jackson, which opens the conference Wednesday morning, my electric session with my two close friends larry fischer and Andrew Rosener later Wednesday AM, and my team Kirstin Wasden and Daniel Koleshchuk‘s panel later that day. Our annual Hilco Digital Assets dinner at the great Red Ash Austin is always a highlight.

The Internet Doesn’t Sleep

While summer is a time for relaxing, spending time on the golf course and the beach, especially for us East Coast based people, it tends to be a busy season for domain name transactions.
