ICA Vegas Recap: Networking, Deals, and Pickleball Fun!

I just returned home from the Internet Commerce Association meeting in Vegas; great time and nice to bring along my partners David Peress and Kirstin Wasden and introduce them to many. Other than my casino outcome which was epicly bad, we had important meetings, negotiated deals, and had dinners with friends. Two highlights were our Hilco Digital Assets opening party co-sponsored with Squadhelp which was awesome thanks to the amazing work of Kamila S. and her team, and the pickleball tourney, hosted by Ammar Kubba. A lot of quality play and good times. I held a “guru table” on high level domain negotiations which I thoroughly enjoyed, mostly because it was great to see many other domain investors and advisors at the table, a testament to my belief that everyone is a potential collaborator and no one truly competition. I hope it was insightful for all. Every year, I am impressed with the  importance and influence of the ICA and am a staunch believer that anyone who has a stake in the domain name landscape should support it.

Squadhelp’s Strong Start in 2024: A Look Ahead

The start of January has been superb for Squadhelp, in which we are the lead investor and I am on the BOD. 2024 is an important year for SH. I am so excited for what Darpan Munjal and his team are doing to revolutionize and be on the cutting edge technology wise of the domain name marketplace and brand category and we continue to see early success from the Ultra-Premium, Marketplace for which HDA curates the domains for sale and manages all negotiations. Darpan did a jam packed, inquisitive AMA session at ICA and it was terrific. He posted a really thorough 2023 year in review here if you are interested, https://lnkd.in/es6DXieC. Some big news coming on the SH front in Q1.
