A Strong End to 2023, and Looking Ahead to 2024

Last week, I reiterated my conviction for a strong end to the year 2023 for the most premium .com domain name assets, validated by several transactions that we at Hilco Digital Assets closed, most prominently, Tiger.com. I mentioned that we had a handful of more negotiations in the works that could happen this year. This week, we were so excited to oversee the acquisition/sale of category killer domain name Fans.com. I still believe we are in for bumps in the road economically in 2024, as there are still ingredients that are sitting there for a “tough sledding recipe” including a frothy stock market, a stalled housing and mortgage market, and interest rate uncertainty which will ultimately be what drives this one way or another. With that said, the most valuable .com domain names in the world continue to be amongst the strongest performing asset classes as a standalone investment, and worth exponential times that ROI to the companies that acquire them.
